His Highness Prince Aga Khan Shia Imami Ismaili
Conciliation and Arbitration Board for Canada

Family

Families generally feel able to solve their own problems, however sometimes they are too emotionally close to their challenges and are at a risk of being torn apart because of a dispute, making it difficult to find an appropriate resolution.

Mediation gives each party an equal opportunity to share their story. It allows the family members to explain to each other why certain things are important to them, thereby creating better understanding and trust. Examples of family disputes include inheritance and estate issues, healthcare choices, and burial decisions. The Conciliation and Arbitration Board can also assist in mediating conflict situations in areas relating to elders, youth, parent-child and siblings.
